11:07 pm - little Saki

|
June 19th, 2008
10:41 am 1. We kept the grey cat. We named her Saki. She is greedy for food and love, but very affectionate and has a wonderful purr.
2. I made leg warmers. Not by knitting, but by detaching sleeves from a black jersey I never wore. The leg warmers are excellent.
3. We are up to season five of Buffy. Me and Scotty both cried when Joyce died. We are also watching a series called The IT Crowd, we find it pretty hilarious. Have you seen it?
4. We might be going on a weekend holiday with our friends Danny and Jenee, as soon as we can decide where to go. As I can remember without seeing the written list these were our preferred specifications for the holiday destination:
* Location approx 3 hours drive away * Somewhere with a local specialty (eg wine or some sort of produce) * Somewhere with a local activity/attraction * Motel with television * Motel proprietors with eccentricity/comedy aspect (eg they keep parrots or something or it's run by two elderly ladies and they are both called Maureen, or...?)
Duties divided like this:
Scott: Driving and music selection Me: Entertainment ( mainly this means making sure we've got good DVDs) Jenee: Snacks Danny: Reservations etc

09:29 pm I always come here then I never know what to write. I'm going to the doctor next Friday. I had a bad temper at work today. I have a sore rib. All I can do is complain.
Here's Philippe, I love him, I wish I had a soft toy likeness of him:

01:05 pm This morning on the way to work I was shocked to realise I can't remember what happens in the movie "The Devil Wears Prada". She goes to work for Meryl Streep, they are all mean to her and say she's ugly/unfashionable etc then...?

11:33 am Autumn - my greatest muse and heartbreaker - is on the way. I can feel it in my throat, my limbs. My hair looks prettier, the light is slanting in on the blue carpet casting a white glow about the still room. I can hear things better, am more awake.

11:38 am I feel blue blue blue today. I wish I had some more coffee. I took an afternoon off yesterday to try and nip the blueness in the bud, but it didn't help. The weather was hot - twentysomething degrees. I felt too listless to do anything that would have cheered me up. I had a meeting at 5.30 which I had to go to. First we sat in the freezing, overly air-conditioned auditorium and asked stupid questions about boring things, then we sat in the back foyer in the blazing sun coming throught he wall to ceiling windows and listened to this guy from the Human Resources dept rabbit on for what seemed an eternity. Rabbit-rabbit-rabbit about all this stuff which was a thinly-veiled oil-on-water address relevant to about three people in our whole team who have been kicking up a fuss about something stupid.
